    Customer Reviews SummaryAI Summary
VENTUS Extra receives high ratings as a versatile rubber for intermediate players, with excellent drive performance and easy spin application being key features. However, weight is a concern, and some users report shorter durability.
    ■ Frequently Mentioned Points
    • Stable drive with easy arc trajectory
    • Easy to apply spin, excellent against backspin
    • Good balance between speed and spin
    • Relatively heavy weight limits dual-sided application
    • Some reports of shorter lifespan than expected
    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveSpin application is excellent, and the drive performance is valuable at this price point. Highly recommendable for beginners to intermediate players. Considering cost-performance, every element scores above 80 points with excellent completion.
▽ CriticalDurability was exhausted in just one month with 8 hours weekly practice. Lost spin performance after 2.5 months, with Rozena being a better choice. Drives require clean form to stay on table, and the linear trajectory requires adaptation.

I think this is perfect for beginners switching over from a high-bounce rubber. It also has a proven track record, since advanced players who've gotten good results use it too. I put it on my TSP SWAT, and the power on topspin drives is considerable. It's more suited to the forehand — using it on the backhand takes a fair amount of skill, so keep that in mind.

Ping pong (Experience: 4〜5 years) Best TSP rubber ever

      Reviews by user

I use this on my forehand.
      Thickness is 2.0mm.
The first thing I noticed was how strong the grip on the ball is.
The hardness is 47.5 degrees, which is quite hard, so it produces a lot of speed.
Topspin drives against backspin also come out with a high arc and stay stable.
The amount of spin on drives is plenty too.
Personally, I thought it felt similar to the spring sponge used in Tenergy and Rozena.
If I had to point out a drawback, being hard makes the short game a bit harder to do.
Still, for this level of performance at 5200 yen, I think it's a great deal,
so it's worth trying at least once.

Even (Experience: 2〜3 years) Feels well put together at a high level

      Reviews by user

Spin, speed, and playability over the table all come together at a high level. If I had to say something negative, it's that it doesn't have a standout specialty, but with so many "characterful" rubbers being released these days, I actually think that's a big strength of its own.
I think it's a great rubber for players who want to attack with a variety of techniques — smashes, plenty of loop drives, stops, chiquitas. Among all that, it felt to me more like a spin-oriented rubber than a speed-oriented one. Put another way, if you just want to blast through with pure speed, this might feel a bit soft for you.
That said, it's still a tension rubber, so it's not like it lacks bounce — it has plenty of speed too. Lastly, here's a quick subjective comparison with G1 for reference.
      Speed: G1 ≥ Super Ventus
Ease of putting on spin: G1 < Super Ventus
Amount of spin: G1 ≈ Super Ventus
      Control: G1 < Super Ventus
Hardness of feel: G1 > Super Ventus
Ease of the short game: G1 ≤ Super Ventus

Up Down Service (Experience: 6〜10 years) Top-notch ease of use

      Reviews by user

I got to test-hit this at my local table tennis shop. My first impression was how easy it is to hit topspin drives with — it grips for spin and has solid speed while still landing in. Depending on how you swing, it can feel heavy. Overall I think it's a good rubber with no real quirks.

Kokutama (Experience: 2〜3 years) Better value than Rozena

      Reviews by user

I switched over from Rozena. The first thing I noticed hitting with it was that it flies more than Rozena, so you can hit more powerful topspin drives than with Rozena. That said, just my personal impression, it felt a bit heavier than Rozena.

      Tetsuya Hashimoto Good overall

      Reviews by user

I thought this was a good rubber with no real drawbacks. Both the spin and the trajectory are stable, making it very easy to handle, though it feels like it doesn't quite have enough speed.

      Lucy Very good!

      Reviews by user

This rubber is really great. I think the SUPER VENTUS is the strongest rubber out there. The spin is good. The speed is good.
The control is excellent. I use this rubber on my forehand. You should use this rubber.
