It's great in every situation except the short game.
Rallying from mid-distance in particular is amazing.

With this blade, the ball flies out flat.
Techniques from away from the table are pretty easy to pull off. However, I felt like the ball leaves the blade quickly. Loop drives and the like are a bit hard to do,
so honestly, I don't think tacky rubbers are a good match.
When I switched to this blade from an inner-carbon blade, it felt like it flew a lot more, so I think this is a blade for more advanced players.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

This is a mega-hit blade that needs no introduction at this point.
I used it continuously right up until recently.
The feel on contact is hard but with some flex to it. The ball tends to fly flat, but you can still feel it grip onto the blade.
Personally, I feel like it's better balanced when paired with a spin-focused rubber.
That said, now that we've moved to plastic balls, it feels even harder than it did with celluloid, so I felt like you need more power to handle it.
Since the ZLC is placed on the outer layer, it's hard and can be tricky to handle in some ways, but if you can handle it, I think it's a blade with amazing potential.
Also, I use the ST handle, but the grip is quite square-edged, so if you're particular about grips, I'd recommend holding one in person before you buy it.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness hard

Without enough muscle strength and skill, you can't get the full power out of this blade. The ball leaves it very quickly, so you have to put spin on it instantly. No matter how fast you swing through, getting spin on it is really hard (unless you're strong). Control and short-game play are tough unless you have real skill, since the blade itself is so bouncy. Countering, lobbing, and drives from away from the table were all very easy to handle. If a beginner or intermediate player really wants to use this blade anyway, putting on a Sriver rubber gives you just the right amount of bounce.

Speaking from my own experience, this is the best-quality blade of my entire table tennis life. The feel on contact, the ball's trajectory, the sound — every sensation was the best. You often see reviews saying the Mizutani ZLC is hard to control, flies too much, or is difficult to handle, but I don't feel that at all. Personally, I overwhelmingly prefer the feel of ZLC over other materials like ALC. What I can say is: don't rely on reviews like this one — what matters is hitting it yourself and finding the equipment that's truly best for you. I never had any interest in carbon blades, but after using this one, all I feel is regret that I didn't discover it sooner. This is purely my personal opinion, but to me, this is a blade I can call the best.

I switched over from the Freitas ALC.
At first I was surprised by how much bounce it has.
Drives and backhand drives from mid-distance or away from the table come out with a low arc and great spin.
But I think short serves and playing close to the table are pretty tough unless you put in a lot of practice.
It's listed as semi-hard, but once I actually hit with it, the ball still sinks into it nicely, so that wasn't a problem.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard
