I'd been using the Mizutani SZLC for about six months before this, and I bought this one as a backup. When I used the SZLC in a match, it bounced so much I couldn't receive properly, so after that I switched my main racket to the Fortius FT ver. D for matches. Once my backhand-side technique and receiving got reasonably stable, I pulled out the ZLC for a change of pace, put the same Hurricane NEO Blue Sponge on the forehand as my main racket, and on the backhand went with Spin Art with the bounce toned down. And it was great! Since it's a bouncy racket, rubbers that let you put a lot of spin on the ball suit it well! With Blue Sponge I can keep good spin on my serves and loop drives, and since the backhand is Spin Art, I can hit spin-heavy drives and chiquitas even when I drop my contact point low. Once I get into a rally, it's mine! My backhand smash-drive lands over and over! I just have to focus on getting the ball in, and apparently the ball comes at my opponent in such a straight line that it's hard for them to counter. This is a real rival to my main racket! My main racket can handle delicate short-game play, but with the ZLC, the backhand hit in a rally is the deciding blow! Both are great rackets that are hard to choose between!

If you've been using a plywood or inner blade, you might feel a bit of a difference. But an outer ZLC doesn't fly on its own like ALC does, so it feels more like a blade where you have to put in your own power to make it fly.

I put Tenergy 05 Hard on it - first of all, it's hard. Even the rubber itself is hard, so if the blade is hard too, that makes for a seriously hard combo. Tenergy 80 fits better after all.

If you can actually use this, it's the strongest thing out there. Ball touch becomes really important with this one. In exchange, it's quite hard to handle. Even outer blades are already difficult, but once you get into ZLC, the trajectory gets so flat it's kind of crazy. I'd recommend it for people who are confident in their ball touch.

There's nothing particularly extreme about it - everything is just at a high level.
On the flip side, if you're the type who sticks right up close to the table, or an unorthodox-style player, this blade might not suit you since it doesn't have a strong defining characteristic.
For players aiming for an all-round playing style, I think you really can't go wrong picking this one if you're torn between options.
