I'd been playing with inverted rubber on both sides for six months, but I struggled with backhand receives, so I switched to short pips.
I've used a bunch of short pips rubbers - Booster SA, Attack 8, Killer, Spectrum - but the moment I first used this one, it just clicked better than any of the others.
Blocking, playing against backspin, sidespin, chiquita - everything is easy to do, and it's got this amazing balance of short pips and inverted rubber performance combined.
Even against a really vicious backspin serve, as long as it's above the net I can hit it like I would with inverted rubber.
Even on serves where I can't tell if they're going up or down, if I just judge the peak and put a light topspin drive on it, I can receive it with a fast, flat trajectory.
I'm not scared of backhand receives at all anymore. If anything I'm like "bring your serves to my backhand!"People who say "spin-type short pips are basically the same as inverted rubber" just don't get it. They clearly don't know anything about rubbers (´･ω･｀)b

I used this again after a long time.
These are my impressions of using the 2.0 thickness Fire Fall on my backhand.
When it first came out, it just felt like a rubber that only bounced, so I stopped using it right away.
But with the switch to plastic balls, I tried buying it again,
and it's a completely different rubber from the celluloid-ball days.
It feels like something between Spin Pips and Spectol from the celluloid era.
Knuckle balls are easy to produce too, and it made me realize how much the ball itself can change a rubber's performance.
This might suit people who want a true short pips feel and who don't get along with Booster-type rubbers.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

It feels a lot like an inverted rubber.
Conversely, it's lost that short pips character, so I don't think it suits players whose tactics rely on knuckle balls and variation.
The spin it grips is more than you'd expect from a short pips rubber. You can hit drives with it too.

It's very attack-oriented, so I'd recommend it to players who like to go all-out on offense.
However, the pips are on the larger side and it's a bit more affected by incoming spin, so knuckle balls are harder to produce compared to a typical short pips rubber.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

For a short pips rubber, it grips the ball insanely well! So in terms of control and versatility of technique, it's really excellent. But because of that, it does lose some of that knuckle-ball and quick-hitting character, so it doesn't feel very "short pips" in nature. In the hands of an advanced player who can make full use of it, it shows off some really high-level specs!

I used this on the forehand of a Chinese penhold blade. I switched over from inverted rubber, but it's an easy-to-use rubber with no sense of discomfort.

There's no feeling of the rubber just putting the ball in for you, but in a good way, it lets your own skill show through. In the hands of an advanced player it has high potential, while for a beginner it's a rubber that's hard to use. It's also easy to generate spin with and has good stability at an angle, so it's great for developing your technique!
