The new VO > 101 is a very fast and dangerous short pips-out rubber with built-in High Energy Tension Technology. This rubber produces an insane amount of knuckleball. Also, if you hit flat, the ball comes out really fast and you can move your opponent side to side to score points. And to repeat, this rubber's knuckleball effect is honestly ridiculous.

Knuckleballs come out without you even trying.
I had a partner hit drives at me and tried blocking them, and it was almost funny how often their drives ended up in the net.
With its speed and how easily it pops the ball, it feels like you get decent attacking power, but since it's hard to put spin on the ball, I was a bit worried about attacking underspin balls.
Rather than mixing in drives and flat hits, it felt better suited to a style where you break the opponent down with knuckleballs first and then attack, or exploit the gap in spin amount against inverted rubber.
Also, since it's not well suited to generating spin, this rubber is better for the backhand side than for forehand short pips or penhold short pips.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

It's a really fun rubber, but putting spin on the ball is pretty difficult. A good portion of my backhand drives end up as knuckleballs too. I also tried the 102, and personally I liked the feel of the 102 better.

*Note: if you're overshooting a lot, swing all the way through to head height and it'll land on the table. If you stop the swing halfway, it flies off.
It doesn't suit a blade that's meant for holding and flinging the ball with flex.
I tried it on a relatively hard blade and it was great.[Speed]
Even hard hits drop at the end (not quite an arc, but close), so there's a sense of stability.[Spin] If you have the basics of short pips topspin down, the ball won't slip off, and you can make your opponent overshoot their blocks. Mixing this with knuckleball drives lets you keep the opponent off balance.
[Serve]
A long knuckleball serve deep to the backhand is a dangerous weapon. It wobbles and drops, and at district tournament level I've never seen it returned cleanly.[Block, Counter]
It feels like you can send the opponent's speed straight back at them. If you take the pace off, you can even produce short blocks that feel like underspin.[Receive]
If you relax and just meet the ball with the racket face, it becomes nicely insensitive to spin, and stopping the ball is easy too.
Pressing into it half-heartedly doesn't work.This isn't a rubber for someone who just switched to forehand short pips or hasn't mastered the fundamentals of short pips play yet.

I use it on the single side of a penhold blade.
It doesn't put much spin on the ball.
The trajectory is flat and straight.
Speed comes out too.
And then there's the total knuckleball effect.
The ball turns into a knuckleball without you doing anything.
Practice partners really hate it (lol)
As long as you hit it in and it lands on the table
it's basically a point-ender in one shot.
That said, it's not stable.
I think running it as a single-side penhold short pips setup is pretty rough.
On the backhand side of a shakehand blade,
for creating a contrast in ball quality against your forehand,

Just like the online reviews said, this thing is a knuckleball machine. Advanced players probably won't have a problem, but if you're not used to short pips, I think you'll feel it lacks stability.
If you catch the ball squarely behind its center and impact it hard, you get top-class power for a short pips rubber.My impression is that it's not really suited for someone switching from inverted rubber to short pips, but if you can master it, it becomes a serious weapon.

Since your blocks come out as knuckleballs, opponents end up dropping the ball into the net during matches on their own.
