The new VO > 101 is a very fast and dangerous short pips-out rubber with built-in High Energy Tension Technology. The long experience of our Japanese pips-out exper ts and the know-how of our German researchers (GJ Tec) resulted in a high-tech rubber which leaves nothing to be desired for aggressive pips-out attackers. The new rubber sheet with optimized pips geometry produces a great pips-out effect, and the flat trajectory of the ball will put your opponent under pressure. The elastic sponge combined with our High Energy Tension Technology opens up new dimensions of speed development in the pips-out segment.
- Short pimples
Players use VO>101
- Knuckleballs naturally emerge easily, highly effective as change-ups for opponents
- Superior attacking power with speed and linear ball trajectory
- Difficult to apply spin, unsuitable for drives and backspin shots
- Susceptible to humidity and weather changes, stability issues present
- Compatible with hard rackets, requires advanced technical skills for proper use

Balsamic Pips-out on both sides too!?
-
2016/12/17
I originally used the 102 on my backhand, but I decided to try the 101, which is supposed to be more "pips-out" in character.
As a result, I found that this rubber lets you attack and block at the same angle as the 102.
If you just block normally by placing the racket in the ball's path, it comes back as a knuckle ball, but among vertical-pip rubbers, it generates enough spin that you can even hit pips-out drives and serves with it.
If you flip between 101 on the forehand and 102 on the backhand, it would be really hard for your opponent to read.
Of course, you'd need to train with both sides, so this is really only a tactic I can recommend to people who currently play with pips on one side...All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

I think it holds a pretty unique position among tension short pips rubbers.
Like everyone says, it produces knuckle balls in a really fun way.
That said, I still haven't gotten control of my hard hits down.
Having a 1.6mm thickness option is also a feature of this 101, and it makes blocking fun.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

Yutchi @ cut Produces knuckle balls

It doesn't put much spin on the ball, but it easily produces the nasty knuckle balls that are unique to short pips. It's suited for advanced players who can generate their own spin, or intermediate players who score points with knuckle balls! Meet shots are also easy and control is outstanding, but it would probably be difficult for beginners.

Gutcheon s For close-to-table fast attack!?
-
2015/10/04
I only ever used this on Chinese penhold with short pips.
I play close-to-the-table fast attack, so I always wanted to take the initiative, and since switching to this I've been getting it constantly.
Not just smashes and angle shots, but even backhand blocks put a ton of spin on the ball and threw my opponents off balance.
As for backhand smashes, even I surprised myself...All Speed Spin Control

This isn't really my main style, but I test-hit it on a Chinese-penhold Alsnova I got from a senior player.
On forehand shots, it might partly be because the blade itself is fast, but the speed is really high and it comes out as a knuckle ball. I felt like the rubber itself doesn't have that much grip (I'm not that good at playing with short pips, so I'm not sure how accurate this judgment is)
It's hard to attack from away from the table, but it suits close-to-the-table table tennis.
It works on both forehand and backhand with shakehand, but a good approach might be to shake up your opponent with knuckle blocks on the backhand, then finish with a backhand smash. All Speed Spin Control

Table soft mania (Experience: 11〜20 years) Not just for knuckle balls!

This is the rubber I was torn between choosing and the Byutori
A fully automatic knuckle-ball machine!
That said, both the drive and the meet shots are excellent
But depending on the blade, I don't think you can shake off the slippery feeling
It's not for people who want stability from a short pips rubber
I felt the Byutori was more all-around for me
so I'm not using this one right now m(_ _)mAll Speed Spin Control
