I've used this on both forehand and backhand, but I'd especially recommend it for the backhand.
The reason is that it's not that hard, so it's easy to sink the ball in even on the backhand, and even someone with mediocre backhand technique like me can handle it and still produce decent shots, with fewer mistakes too.
On the forehand you can generate your own power, so there are plenty of rubber options, but for the backhand, where you want to produce decent shots, I felt this was one of the few real candidates.
Put another way, I think it offers irreplaceable performance on the backhand.
I myself couldn't settle on a backhand rubber and tried a bunch before finally landing on this Dignics 09c.
It's classified as a "tacky tension" rubber, but it leans more toward tension than tack.
Compared to Tenergy, the automatic spin generation is a bit weaker, but the maximum amount of spin you can produce is higher with Dignics 09c. (It doesn't have that "auto" feel, so I felt it was a completely different animal from Tenergy.)
In other words, you can use that range from knuckleball-like shots to heavily cut spin to draw mistakes out of your opponent, and I've actually beaten higher-ranked players in matches with it.
Honestly, I'm convinced that's down to Dignics 09c rather than my own skill.
It's pricey, but it definitely delivers more performance than the price tag suggests, and I think it's absolutely worth trying at least once.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

I use 09c on the forehand with a Revoldia.
The softness of the blade combined with the hardness of the 09c and its tack gives it good ball-holding, and it still produces plenty of power, which I personally like.
On an outer blade it would probably fly way too much, so I'd recommend pairing it with an inner-type blade.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

I've been using this for a bunch of reasons.
The balance between spin and speed is on a whole other level.
Speed drives come out fast but still get a ton of spin on them, so that's 10/10.
Loop drives get gripped really well by the sheet, giving spin like I've never felt before, and even with that much spin, control is still easy, so that's 10/10.
Meet-hitting produces a really good ball when you hit it with solid impact, so that's 10/10.
Pushes get great grip from the sheet, so that's 10/10.
Stops can be placed right on the edge of the net, just like it says on Butterfly's website, so that's 10/10.
Speed-oriented chiquitas get spin and speed at the same time, so that's 10/10.
Spin-oriented chiquitas get great grip from the sheet, so that's 10/10.
Serves get a lot of spin because the sheet grips the ball so well, so that's 10/10.
Backspin attacks can be hit like you're hitting topspin, so that's 10/10.
Topspin rallies are great too. Even sinking the ball into the sponge, it still grips solidly for spin, so that's 10/10.

Switched over from Hurricane NEO3.
Even mounted on a chopping blade, it has plenty of bounce, and attacking and countering feel very easy with that automatic, effortless quality typical of Japanese-made rubbers.
That said, when chopping it doesn't bounce too much, and it's easy to produce sharply cut chops that land properly on the table.
Unlike Hurricane, the backhand feel doesn't get hard — a rubber I want both tacky-rubber choppers and tension-rubber choppers to try at least once.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

What's most amazing about this rubber, above all, is how long it lasts. It works fine for 3-4 months, and even after it wears down it still easily beats your average intermediate-level rubber.
You don't feel the difficulty in hitting or spinning that the hardness rating suggests — once you've got the basics down, it feels like you can already play well with it.
It's not too heavy once mounted either, so personally I think you're better off mastering this rubber than trying a German rubber over ¥10,000 in the same hardness range.
It overcomes basically every weakness of high-end rubbers to that extent, so it's no wonder it's dominant.

I like using slightly tacky rubber on my forehand, and I'd been avoiding Dignics 09C since so many people use it. But I'd always wanted to try it at least once, so I bought it, and I was surprised at how easy it was to use. German-style slightly tacky rubbers have more character to the ball, but with less character here, it's easier to land on the table and my play stability went up. The hardness number on paper is very high, but personally it felt softer than the number suggests. It's a very expensive rubber, so I can't recommend it unconditionally, but I think it's definitely worth trying once, so if you get the chance, go for it!

The true value of this rubber is its absurdly long lifespan.
With German rubbers in the ¥10,000+ range, it's common to hear things like "fresh out of the box with high impact, it beats Dignics,"
but most of them lose performance drastically within a month regardless.
With Dignics 09C, the sheet doesn't have too short a lifespan — it easily lasts around 3 months, and even after it wears down its performance
still surpasses some so-called high-end rubbers, so buying and sticking with this one ends up being cheaper in the long run.
On top of that performance, it's light, and despite its hardness it isn't too hard and stays stable, solving basically every drawback that comes with the territory of high-end rubbers.
There are plenty of foreign rubbers priced over ¥10,000, but unless you specifically love the feel or have the money to keep buying them,
honestly I don't feel any need to reach for them, and I wouldn't recommend them to others.
Unless the fundamental rules of table tennis, like the ball or table size, get changed, I predict this will remain dominant, unrivaled, for another ten years.
I think it's fair to say that competitive table tennis in the Reiwa era, not just with 09C, boils down to "a sport of training yourself to handle Dignics."
