This blade has a pretty hard feel.
When you hit a drive, instead of the ball flying off after you've put spin on it,
it feels more like the ball flies off before the spin really grabs.
That said, the ball's trajectory draws a fairly low arc,
so you can produce sharp shots that dig into the back of the opponent's court.
I feel like this is a blade for intermediate-to-advanced players who are confident in their drives.
Also, even when you're under pressure from the opponent's attack, thanks to the good rebound and the hardness of the wood,
you can still return balls that are pushing you back.
If you push, you get a nice low ball, so you can shift into a counter-attack without forcing a hard counter.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

First off, it's heavy lol. Like, really heavy - it feels like it could be around 200 grams. Also, the feel is hard. If your impact is strong you get a good ball, but if the impact is even a little weak it just turns into a dead, straight ball. The gap in ball quality is huge, so my opponents seemed to have a really hard time with it. It's easy to play the short game with - topspin shots bounce well, but over the table it just stops for you. The rubber pairing might really matter here. It's a good blade, but it's expensive, you need really strong impact to handle it, and it's too heavy to swing properly. Whoever can actually swing this thing is amazing...

I have OX rubber on my backhand.
I was surprised at how easily it snaps off pushes.
Once it turns into a topspin rally, it just keeps grinding and grinding! Though if this were inverted rubber on both sides, my arm would probably snap lol lol.
It's heavy and hard, but the destructive power & design are the best. If you can really make it your own, I think it'd be pretty great!Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness hard

This was really great.
I was originally using a Viscaria, but ever since it switched to the plastic ball era, I'd been feeling like the spin wasn't quite enough.
I decided to go back to a plain wood blade after a while and tried a bunch, and the Emerald was a really satisfying blade. Stops land solidly, and pushes bite really well. It's easy to get grip on the ball for the short game too, and even on backspin balls it gives you a nice solid arc. I never got overpowered in topspin rallies either. Surprisingly, I think it's easy for anyone to use.
The feel is a little unusual — it makes a high-pitched clacking sound. It feels on the hard side, but there's still a sense that it grabs the ball firmly.
The price is up there with carbon blades so it's not the easiest to pull the trigger on, but I'd especially recommend it if you want both spin and speed, or if you can swing all the way through even with harder rubber.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

I used this aiming to level up from the Infinity. At first, on days when I was on form and could swing hard, the impact was strong and the ball really flew with good spin, so I thought it was great. But on days when I wasn't on form, the impact was weak, I'd hit straight into the net, and the blade felt hard. I felt it paired well with Rasant, but pairing it with something like Hurricane to tone down the bounce is also an option. It's the kind of blade you can win with if you master it... But I found it didn't fly quite as much as I expected. Something like the Carbonado 290 flies a lot more.

Using the ST version.
It looks way too cool...
The rugged look of the ebony, the shine of the emerald green, the beauty of the finish...
This is STIGA for you.
I've also put tacky rubber on it, and it does get quite heavy. But it has a bounce you wouldn't expect from a 5-ply blade.
If you have the strength to swing all the way through, you can flex it and get a really great drive out of it.
I'd say it pairs really well with tacky rubber.

It's pretty hard.
A hardness you wouldn't expect from wood. It really made me realize that VPS technology is basically like an outer carbon blade.
It's also fairly heavy, so I'd say it's for advanced players.That said, the looks and finish are top-notch.
I think it's the bounciest blade in STIGA's current wood lineup, so if you're curious, definitely give it a try.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness hard
