Despite being an outer ALC material, it is highly evaluated for its excellent compatibility with sticky rubbers and balanced speed and spin. Supported by top player usage, it is gaining support from intermediate to advanced players seeking offensive play.
    ■ Frequently Mentioned Points
    • Excellent balance of speed and spin
    • Good compatibility with sticky rubbers
    • Grip shape makes backhand swings easier
    • Table play techniques are easy to execute
    • Requires technical skill to master
    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveDespite being outer ALC, it has a gripping sensation and excellent balance between bounce and ball grip. With reliable speed output, it appeals to many offensive-style players.
▽ CriticalThe fast ball departure and strong bounce characteristic of outer materials make it difficult for beginners and plywood users to master, potentially causing control issues.

I've only ever used 5-ply all-wood blades, so I couldn't adapt to the change. I originally had Hurricane on my forehand, but it was too hard and the ball left too fast, so I stopped using it.
That said, the backhand was as easy to hit with as its reputation says.

Thanks to its speed and long dwell time, this is a blade that's really well suited to topspin play. The only thing I can complain about is receiving serves or short pushes.

From my own experience using it, I think it's an overall well-balanced blade. The feel is good and the spin is more than enough, but for me, it bounced too much on its own and I couldn't quite handle it. That built-in bounce is actually one of the strong points of an outer blade, but in my case it backfired. If not for that, it would be a perfect blade. By the way, the grip felt more comfortable to hold than the one I bought before, so it might have gone through a minor change.

Nerd who loves Viscaria (Experience: 6〜10 years)

      Player reviews

The Viscaria's feel is nice, and it flies a moderate amount, so I found it to be a really easy blade to use. Even though it's an outer blade, you get a real sense of grip on the ball, so overall I think it's easy to play with.

I'd guess the short game is easy on this too.

Sky (Experience: 6〜10 years) Seriously strong

      Player reviews

Since Zhang Jike himself uses it, it pairs well with Chinese rubber.
Mine is a pre-reissue Viscaria, and the spin it puts on the ball is insane. If you swing all the way through properly, it comes in with a crazy trajectory, which I think is one of its best points.

OH (Experience: 11〜20 years) Glad I bought it

      Player reviews

The overall balance is extremely high, giving you confidence in every kind of shot. I got the flared grip, and the shape and weight feel really nice — it settles into your hand perfectly.
It's very easy to hit with, yet the speed and spin are more than enough, and it doesn't fly too much, landing solidly on the table. It's a blade you can swing through with confidence, and I'm glad I bought it. It seems like it would pair well with all kinds of rubbers. I tried it with both Dignics 9C and Omega VII Tour, and I've settled on the Omega VII Tour.
On the backhand I use an unorthodox rubber, but maybe because of the grip shape, switching directions feels really smooth. I'm convinced it's worth trying at least once.

Michael tomioka (Experience: 11〜20 years) Nothing beats the Viscaria

      Player reviews

In a word, nothing beats the Viscaria.
I think it's the one and only number one among blades. Sure, other manufacturers make blades with similar performance, but there's something valuable in the Viscaria name and design itself.
