A rubber that makes it easy to vary the pace. If you drive it with the feel of inverted rubber, you get a low, fast topspin drive, and on blocks you can even produce knuckle balls close to what you'd get with long pips. It takes some getting used to, but it's a rubber packed with everything that makes short pips fun.

When I had a celluloid ball, I used this on the backhand of my Clipper CR-WRB.
My backhand impact isn't that strong.
After switching to the plastic ball, the ball became harder to deform, so it got harder to hit off, and the feel became mushy, which made it harder to use.Recently I switched to my current blade, and since the plywood is thinner, it's easier to draw an arc, and thanks to the hard surface ply, I could hit off clearly while keeping speed.
With this rubber, pushes and stops don't fly off the table, true to a high-elasticity rubber.
It's also easy to add spin, and easy to use spin the way you'd expect.
Likewise for receives too — riding the ball, meeting it flat, driving, all of these are easy, and once you get the timing down it's quite easy to land the ball.Thanks to the solid sponge and topsheet, it matches well with both the opponent's soft touches and hard hits, so it's good for using the opponent's power against them.
What I struggle with is when the opponent plays it soft and slow.
The fix is to move around the table, vary the pace, use knuckle balls, or get set and hit hard.If you want to go for speed during a match, another rubber would be better.

The control on this rubber is just great. If you're switching from inverted rubber for the first time, this is definitely the rubber I'd recommend. That said, it doesn't get that much spin, Hammond is faster in terms of speed, and above all, it's slippery.
Well, let me go through each shot one by one.
Topspin drive
It's so-so. It's not that it gets no spin at all — it actually draws a decent arc.Smash

This is probably the most famous and most widely used short pips rubber in the world.

Ide The short pips

This rubber really feels like a true short pips rubber. Receiving is very easy since it's barely affected by spin. If you use it with a pushing motion, you get knuckle balls really well too. That said, the speed is a bit lacking. It's hard to smash through with a backhand smash. Also, on rainy days the humidity makes the ball just drop dead, which is tough.

Kaorin For chopping?

I'd known for a while that Chinese choppers like Wu Yang use this, so I was curious about it. I didn't really have the image of short pips generating much spin, but you can produce both sharply spinning chops and dead knuckle balls with it. Of course it's not for everyone — I'd say it's more for players skilled enough to reach the round of 16 at a prefectural inter-high tournament!
