I've used all kinds of short pips rubbers, starting with Spin Pips and Spectol, Hammond FA, and on to Moristo SP.
With this rubber, it goes without saying that side-spin comes easily, but hitting/knocking shots are also really easy to pull off — it's my personal No. 1 short pips rubber.
Its only weakness is that it bounces a lot, so be careful with the sponge thickness you choose (I mainly use medium). All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

Among short pips, this is on another level for spin and speed!
If you want to take the initiative right off your serve, or you rely heavily on topspin drives, you really can't go wrong just using this.
Just like the marketing says, it's a rubber built purely for attacking.
If you're an all-around player close to the table who wants to use knuckle shots, this probably isn't for you.
It doesn't tend to produce that nasty, tricky ball quality. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

I've always played shakehand with inverted rubber on both sides, but I finally worked up the courage to switch to short pips on the backhand. The spin is naturally not as good as inverted rubber, but there's still plenty of spin, the backhand is easy to hit with, and the speed is pretty good too. Handling the short game and hitting backspin is quite easy, and it flies well even away from the table, so it's an aggressive rubber. Knuckle balls and variation might not come naturally on their own, but you can produce knuckles if you're deliberate about it. For someone switching from inverted rubber like me, it's a really easy rubber to use.

I used to play with Morristo SP and felt the spin was a bit lacking, so I switched. First off, hitting with it felt like the ball flew well, so I think it suits players who want to attack above all. Since Morristo has vertical pips, flat hitting was easy with it, but the ball flew too straight and often caught the net; the VO102, on the other hand, generates plenty of spin, so it naturally arcs and stays stable. Drives especially are so stable that you can hit them casually and they still go in. Flat hitting is also better than with Morristo. Some site claimed this rubber is attack-oriented and not really suited to small techniques like pushes and stops, but that's not true at all — the push in particular is a real weapon because of the spin, and honestly everything about it is perfect. It's a rubber that's a bit close to inverted rubber, but I think switching over straight from inverted rubber would still take some getting used to, so I'd recommend trying a different short pips rubber first before moving to this one. Still, this rubber's performance is head and shoulders above other short pips rubbers, so I really want short-pips players to try it at least once.

To begin with, short pips doesn't take spin easily and it's mostly about hitting flat, so playing against choppers is a pain, right? Even with this rubber on your backhand, you can still hit backhand drives! And even if you can drive, having different spin amounts on forehand and backhand makes it harder for your opponent, which is better than being an all-inverted drive player. Being able to play close-to-the-table attacking with short pips while still being able to backhand drive is a real strength.

I put this on a backup blade I bought when I put short pips on my main blade. It's 2.0mm on the backhand.
Basically everything works with it — flat hitting, blocking, drives, pushes. That's because even though it's short pips, it still generates solid spin.
I switched over from inverted rubber, so I don't really go for that tricky knuckle-ball style of play, and in terms of ease of use, this rubber is definitely a perfect score for me. The fact that it doesn't feel much different from when I used inverted rubber is a big plus too.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Since this is a spin-oriented short pips rubber, if you cut properly, pushes and the like come out with real backspin. You can also produce knuckle balls if you try to.
