This was the first rubber I ever put on, on my backhand.
I even made it to the prefectural tournament using it.
It's really strong in close-to-the-table rallies, and I think it's easy to switch to from inverted rubber.
It also generates good spin as long as you swing through properly.
If you want to try short pips but are on the fence, I'd recommend this just as much as the Moristo.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Performs exactly as advertised — a short pips rubber built for hitting away.
It suits players who attack with spin rather than with knuckle balls. Both speed and control are excellent. That said, since the sheet has some grip, it's also more affected by incoming spin. It takes some getting used to, but once you master it, you can blast through shots while staying stable. You can play with confidence even on humid days. I'm currently using this as short pips on my forehand, and it's a really good rubber.
It's easy to switch to from inverted rubber, and when you swing it gets about as much spin as inverted rubber.
If you meet the ball flat, it comes out as a knuckle ball, so if your opponent blocks it, it drops.
I think this rubber is really only suited to players who play an all-out attacking style — otherwise it's hard to get the most out of it.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

I switched from Hammond FA and I've been trying various things.
Coming from a speed-oriented rubber with a bit of spin, switching to this gives an impression of flying way too much.
Most techniques were fine, but I got the impression knuckle balls don't come out much except when blocking.
Personally the problem is with the flick — if I flick it the way I used to with my old rubber, lifting the ball onto it, I get overshoot misses over and over.
For the short game, you have to handle the ball while putting spin on it, almost like with inverted rubber, or it won't be stable, so I think this takes some practice.
Also, because the ball grips more, it's more affected by the opponent's spin, so with a slow, heavily spun loop you need to lightly flick it off rather than matching the spin, or you'll overshoot.Personally I feel like this is a rubber that would be good once you get used to it, so I'm planning to compare it with the V103 I'm trying soon and keep using whichever is better.

I'm a chopper who attacks a lot,
so I thought this might be easier to hit with when I drop back away from the table, and bought it!
I used to use Donackle before, and yeah,
this one bounces a lot lol, I was surprised the first time I hit with it!
You can drive with it just like inverted rubber, and it grips the ball a ton for spin!
So I thought it was good, but honestly you really do need to be an intermediate-to-advanced player or better

I normally use Booster SA (have for about 12 years), so this will be a comparison review. I normally use Booster SA in max thickness (sponge thickness 2.1-2.3). This time I used VO102 in MAX.
Looking at both, the pip shape, size, height, density, and fabric weave appear to be completely identical. The sponge thickness is exactly the same too. But the top sheet under the pips is clearly thicker on the VO102.
As everyone writes in their reviews, and as the sellers say too, VO102 really flies. The sound off the ball also had that "booster-coated" sound. Compared to the SA, the sponge feels softer and I think it has stronger rebound too. It also gets slightly more spin than the SA (though it's also more affected by the opponent's spin) — probably because the pips resist folding over more than the SA's. Personally I feel that the VO102, like a lot of recent spin-oriented short pips, has a bit of an inverted-rubber-like feel. It naturally gives you good stability, so I think it's good for players who attack first (though the max thickness might be plenty). If you prioritize the short game, serves, receives, and variation, honestly a different short pips rubber would suit you better. In conclusion, VO102 is a rubber with a clearly defined character, so if there's a player near you who uses it, it's best to judge by watching how they play.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

I feel like this really shows its true value when paired with a harder blade.
For the drive, rather than sinking the ball deep into the sponge, if you brush the surface instead you get a ball with more spin than you'd expect from short pips.
For meet shots and smashes, the speed is beyond complaint. Control takes some getting used to, but the power is more than enough.
If you're switching over from inverted rubber, there are probably situations where you'll find it harder to control.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft
