The Timo Boll ALC is the blade of choice for the European Triple Champion, Timo Boll. Timo working with Butterfly’s technicians, helped design his new blade which offers a touch more speed than his previous model but still allows for the production of the heavy topspin strokes Timo is known for.
Using his new blade along with Butterfly’s new Tenergy rubbers, Timo successfully defended all three of his Titles at the 2008 European Championships. Timo plays fair and wins and so can you. The Timo Boll ALC offers the maximum blend of speed, heavy spin, and Control.

I also own the Timo Spin. It feels like pretty much the same blade, but since it's a bit lighter, I think it opens it up to a wider range of players.
My impression after using it is that arylate carbon is often described as feeling like a soft carbon, but compared to plain wood it's actually hard and doesn't flex much. So I wouldn't recommend wood players jumping straight into this one.
As for drive speed, it's reasonably fast no matter who uses it, but unless you have decent confidence in your impact, the initial speed is just fast without much scariness behind it, so it's easy to return. If you have a fast swing and can make a solid impact, you can hit shots with both good spin and speed.
In conclusion, unless you're at a certain level, you'll end up not being able to use this blade's full potential.
That said, if you have the mindset of eventually hitting a great shot with this blade, I think anyone can give it a try.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

It pairs well with Hammond Z2 - even hitting hard, the ball doesn't drop short, which is great. If you put Fastarc G-1 on the backhand side, the grip of the G-1 combines really well with the speed of the Timo Boll ALC.

I switched from the Timo Boll CAF and now use this as my main blade - it's a really good one.
Both wings are stable, but until you get used to it, you just end up landing poor-quality shots.
I think getting used to a blade is a given with any blade, but I felt that especially strongly with this one - though once you're used to it, it's good enough that you feel like you can land anything.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

With outer ALC blades, the ball leaves the blade fast, so I think beginner to intermediate players will find the ball flying off before they can really grip it.
But when it does grip properly, you get both spin and speed. I'd recommend it to players who can consistently sink the ball into the rubber and hit with it.

I think this is a rubber that can do absolutely everything. It's just amazing, it can do anything - the best forehand drive, and it's really easy to pull off.

I felt this is a blade that suits pretty much any rubber, brings out the rubber's performance, and supports it well. I think pairing it with the Dignics series is a sure bet. That said, the feel wasn't really to my taste. A friend of mine loved this exact feel, so opinions probably split depending on whether you prefer a hard blade or a soft one.

This is a blade I used back in high school.
It's a blade you can hit hard with on both wings, but as an intermediate player I could never really get much spin on the ball, and I kept feeling like spin was hard to generate the whole time I used it. Part of that might have been that it didn't suit me since I switched straight from a beginner's blade.
That said, in my own way I found countering really easy to do, and during matches I could counter even fairly high loop drives quite reliably, which sometimes led to points, but the feel of the Timo Boll ALC never really suited me, and it was hard to fully make use of it.
If you're a bit uneasy about ALC blades in general, I'd suggest not using this one, but if you swing fast or already have a decent handle on how to generate spin, I'd recommend this blade.
I think it's a blade where the good and bad sides of arylate carbon both come out in extreme form - I feel like a hard rubber would suit it, or maybe a tacky rubber too.
Compared to the Tomokazu Harimoto Inner ALC, it feels like it has a completely different material inside. I like the Inner ALC, but it's a totally different animal. If it doesn't suit you, it really doesn't suit you.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft
