The Timo Boll ALC is the blade of choice for the European Triple Champion, Timo Boll. Timo working with Butterfly’s technicians, helped design his new blade which offers a touch more speed than his previous model but still allows for the production of the heavy topspin strokes Timo is known for.
Using his new blade along with Butterfly’s new Tenergy rubbers, Timo successfully defended all three of his Titles at the 2008 European Championships. Timo plays fair and wins and so can you. The Timo Boll ALC offers the maximum blend of speed, heavy spin, and Control.

The way drives carry through is fantastic.
The grip is a standard thickness, but maybe because of its roundness, it actually feels thinner in the hand.
The flex of the ALC combined with the top-heavy balance from the hollow grip transfers the power of your swing straight into the ball.
You can do topspin rallies with confidence.
In the short game you do need to hold back the bounce to some extent, but once you master it, your level goes up dramatically, so practicing with it is a lot of fun lol
If you want to try an outer blade but aren't confident in your power, definitely give this one a try too!Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

I normally use a 7-ply wood blade or an inner-carbon blade.
Maybe because of that, this outer ALC blade felt quite hard to me.
Playing a style where you let the ball sink into the sponge felt difficult, from my sense of it.
On the other hand, when I brushed the ball thinly and put strong spin on it, it landed on the table with a fantastic amount of spin and a great arc.
Serves were also easy to put heavy backspin on, and stops and pushes didn't feel especially difficult either.
The pattern of a heavily backspun serve, a third-ball loop, forcing a block, then finishing on the fifth ball, was pretty easy to pull off.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

Rakza 7 Soft is fine for the backhand. While I was searching for a forehand rubber, I ended up landing on Rakza 7 Soft. The path was Rakza 7 → Ventus Spin → Rakza 7 Soft. The original Rakza 7 was hard and I kept dropping the ball short, so I tried to go softer, and that's how I ended up here. I worried people might think "using a soft rubber on your forehand, how childish," so I tried to push myself with the regular Rakza 7, but the ball response was too inconsistent and I couldn't handle it well. Unless I swung with real focus, my drives would fall short. This blade generates plenty of speed, so going with a softer rubber on the forehand too is definitely a valid choice.

I think it's easy enough to use even for beginners
I think it's a bit hard to get spin on it
But I think you can get a decent amount of speed

Test-hit with V15 Sutifutokuattsu on both sides.
The feel is great. Just the right amount of feedback in your hand. The drives come out fast, heavy, and with a satisfying crack — hitting the trifecta for a great-feeling drive. The ball flies dead straight. It's very linear. That said, since it's a medium-hardness rubber on both sides, the blade is hard, but it was still easy to use (^^) It has great pop, so smashes, blocks, and hitting counters all left a great impression. Still, because it's hard and flies a lot, the short game is difficult, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it to beginners lol
That said, it's a blade where you can really see why it's so popular worldwide. Truly excellent. I think intermediate players and above will appreciate what makes this blade good, so I'd love for them to try it.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness hard

Re-review
After 6 years of playing table tennis while suffering from the disease of buying way too much rubber, practicing day after day, I finally feel like I've found my partner — I'm sooo happy!!
I attack aggressively from mid-distance on the forehand, and attack about the same amount on the backhand. And once I get used to it, I'm going to switch to Rasanter R42!
