The Timo Boll ALC is the blade of choice for the European Triple Champion, Timo Boll. Timo working with Butterfly’s technicians, helped design his new blade which offers a touch more speed than his previous model but still allows for the production of the heavy topspin strokes Timo is known for.
Using his new blade along with Butterfly’s new Tenergy rubbers, Timo successfully defended all three of his Titles at the 2008 European Championships. Timo plays fair and wins and so can you. The Timo Boll ALC offers the maximum blend of speed, heavy spin, and Control.

I've always used tacky rubber on my forehand. This time, instead of the normal Hurricane, I used the Provincial Hurricane Neo3 Blue Sponge.
The Timo Boll blade itself is ALC and easy to handle, so even with tacky rubber it felt pretty good.
But if you don't swing through properly the ball goes flat and dead with not enough power, so you just have to build up your muscles. That said, the base film on the Neo3 Blue Sponge is thick and soft, so it wasn't rock hard either. Anyway, I don't think you'll regret buying this blade.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

I'm using the FL. I felt my old blade was lacking, so I bought this one. The spin is insane and the speed is pretty fast too, but control is difficult. You can hit solidly over the table, and blocks come back fast too, so my impression is that it's aimed at upper-intermediate to advanced players. I switched over from a 7-ply blade, and it only took about a day to get used to the Timo Boll ALC. I was thinking of using the same Tenergy that Timo Boll uses, but... it doesn't last long and it's not affordable, so I looked for another rubber and ended up with this one. I think it pairs well.

This is a blade for intermediate to advanced players.
It flies a bit flat and it really flies.
I think it gets good spin.
I'd say it's best suited to attacking mainly with loop drives, like Boll does.
If an advanced player puts Tenergy on both sides, I think it gets pretty nasty.
As for recommended rubbers, Tenergy is a given, but
I also think slightly harder rubbers like the Evolution EL-S or Fastarc G-1 work well.

It's an outer-fiber blade, but it's easy to handle!
Speed is a given, and even if you just focus on spin, loop drives go in nicely.
Basically no matter what rubber you put on, it never feels bad, so you can just put on whatever you like.It's a good blade that combines speed and stability.

When I hit some light forehand and backhand shots, the ball flew exactly where I aimed.
It's an outer-fiber blade, but for me the speed is just right, and I can get power out with stability no matter what kind of ball I hit.Even if you've been avoiding it just because it's an outer-fiber blade, I want you to give this one a try at least once.

I'm using this just for fun rather than as my main blade, so I'm reviewing it from a near-beginner's perspective. First, the feel is fairly hard. Also, you won't get any spin on the ball unless you hit it with a solid stance, but when you do hit it right, the stability is exceptional. The speed is fast, as you'd expect from a carbon blade, but since it's mixed with arylate, it doesn't fly as much as a plain carbon blade would. I'm using a flared grip, and since it's thin, I think it'll fit people with small hands well. I'd recommend it for the rubber side too.

A missing tool mania (Experience: ４〜５ years) Super easy to use

I switched over from wood, but maybe because I was already using carbon before that, there was no real disconnect and it was super easy to hit with. I felt like this blade makes the forehand really easy to hit with. The reason is that I used to be weak on my forehand, but now my forehand has actually become my stronger side. You can step back, or play two-handed drives over the table up close, or shake up your opponent with blocks, and the serves bite well too — it was a really great blade. When I next change blades, I felt like I'd want to go with the Timo Boll ALC again. I tried a bunch of different rubbers and none of them were particularly hard to use with it. But the best combo, if you're willing to spend more, was Tenergy 05 on the forehand and Tenergy 64 on the backhand. For a cheaper option, it's G-1 on the forehand and either P-1 or G-1 on the backhand.
