This was my first blade when I started playing table tennis.
Above all, the control is great. Everything from speed drives to stops lands on the table reliably.
Once you get to around intermediate level though, the performance does start to feel lacking. It ends up feeling like the speed just isn't enough.
This is just personal preference, but I wasn't a huge fan of the feel on contact (that "donk, donk" resonance in the hand).
Even so, it's a blade I can recommend to beginners. If you're a beginner unsure which blade to pick, please give this one a look.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Soft

This was the very first blade I used when I started playing table tennis, and it was really easy to use. My drives went in consistently, and the feel on contact has that nice, comfortable all-wood feeling. Personally, I'd recommend buying this over jumping straight into a special-material blade as your very first one.

This was the first blade I bought when I switched from Japanese-style penhold to Chinese-style penhold.
It was also my first time using a plywood blade, and I really felt the handling advantage that a single-ply blade doesn't have.
It doesn't bounce too much and has good grip on the ball, so it's easy to add spin.

Its performance leaves nothing to be desired in any area.
I hear well-known players use it too.
People tend to assume it's for beginner-to-intermediate players,
but it works perfectly fine at an advanced level too.

I've been using this for over a year, and it really goes with any rubber! Speed and spin are a bit lacking, but if you use a rubber that makes up for that, there's no problem. It lets you build up your fundamental technique, so I think it's a great blade for a first or second racket, or for anyone who wants to try out lots of different rubbers!

Barely more than a beginner (Experience: ４〜５ years) Recommended for beginners to intermediate!

It's just really easy to handle overall! Its performance doesn't have any extreme spikes in one direction, so it doesn't demand a particular type of player, and being a 7-ply blade it has a decent amount of bounce (for its price range), so it pairs well with short pips too. That said, it's not so bouncy that the ball flies off before you can even get spin on it — it's genuinely a nice amount of bounce. It also resonates nicely in your hand and makes a good sound, so right now I'm really satisfied with it. That said, it's really aimed at beginner-to-intermediate players, so I can't recommend it to advanced players, and once you start feeling like this blade isn't enough for you, it might be best to just accept that "this was a blade for getting better" and move on to a new one. Basically, like I said above, this blade felt like "a blade for beginner-to-intermediate players to improve with." Rather than a beginner buying some junky 3,000-yen blade, or jumping straight into a special-material blade as their first one and picking up bad habits while throwing money down the drain, I think it's much better to buy this as your first blade and build your fundamentals on it. (The scores I gave are based purely on this price range and on it being aimed at beginner-to-intermediate players.)

I used the Swat as my second blade, switching over from the Mace Performance. I remember the feel on contact being really good.
It was easy to use and I liked it, but maybe because my swing speed went up, I started to feel like the ball was staying on the blade too long, so I graduated from the Swat and switched to the Artero.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard
