Using it Chinese-penhold style.

I'd recommend this for penhold long-pips players who want to move away from a block-heavy style and play more aggressively. With OX rubber, the blade's speed comes through more, and the variation and bite are bigger too, so I think it's easier to score points. On the other hand, the weight is concentrated toward the tip, so that might bother some people. The grip is flat, so the blade face doesn't wobble easily, which I think makes drives and smashes stable. You might find it hard to control with soft, tall long pips. But then again, that unpredictability might just be part of what makes the variation work... Since the ball comes off quickly, be prepared that putting on a tension rubber will make it harder to generate spin.

This is my first carbon blade. I went back and forth between this and a soft carbon one, but ended up going with this.
When I first started using it, I kept missing because I wasn't used to it, but once I got the hang of it, I started producing better shots than with my old blade. Curve drives especially are insane - the spin is so strong you can practically hear the ball spinning. On top of that, since it's lighter than my old blade, my swing speed went up too. I'm a chopper, but I love Ma Lin so intensely that I ended up buying this, lol.
It has carbon in it, but you surprisingly don't feel the carbon much. Maybe because the surface veneer isn't that soft? It feels like a slightly hard wooden blade. But once you start hitting with it, you can feel the flex, lol.
I put a fairly hard tacky rubber on my forehand, and it handled it with no issues at all. Spin and speed were both really good. Serves bite well too.
On the backhand I had a soft tension rubber, and that worked great for both attack and defense as well. In other words, you don't need to be too fussy about your rubber choice (just my personal impression).Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

It feels like a version of the Extra Offensive with less bounce and better control. Of course the spin still bites well, so I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to hit powerful drives while keeping things stable!
