Ma Lin EXTRA OFFENSIVE is a fast 5-ply blade developed in cooperation with Ma Lin. The very hard outer veneers are combined with selected Scandinavian pine veneers to give the blade power. The thick, medium soft center veneer helps to give the blade the very good ball feel, appreciated by technical offensive players.
Produced in the famous blade factory in Tranås, Sweden.

It works whether you use inverted rubber, short pips, long pips, or tacky rubber.
For me personally, tacky rubber on the forehand and inverted on the backhand, like Ma Lin, felt the best, but honestly any rubber should be fine.
And its biggest strength is how easy the short game is — flicks, chiquitas, pushes, all of it is easy.
The reverse-side backhand stroke is also very easy to do.
A blade you can use from beginner to advanced.

I thought the feel was really good, and the balance between control, spin, and speed was great.
I think it works with anything from harder rubbers like Xiang Long to softer rubbers like Zart!
I felt like you could pair it with all kinds of rubbers.

This review is from the perspective of a Chinese penhold user.
As the title says.
It's a 5-ply blade with excellent overall balance, one that I think suits players of any level.It's a bit pricey for a beginner, but since you can adjust it just by changing rubbers as you improve, I think it's also recommendable as a first blade.
It bounces properly whether you pair it with high-elasticity rubber, tension rubber, tacky rubber, or short pips. I haven't tried it with long pips, so I can't say about that.
Among the many player models out there, I think this is a blade that regular players can handle without it bouncing too much.
It's sold by a Japanese maker, but like STIGA blades, it's made in Sweden, a country known for its woodworking.

It's hard, but the bounce is normal.
The blade is thin, built on the assumption you'll put rubber on both sides.The feel gives a moderate vibration in the hand, the kind that appeals to everyone.
I think it suits people who want the power to come from the rubber, but still want the feel of hitting with a hard, solid blade.

The famous Ma Lin model, needs no introduction. The surface material is on the harder side, but I think this level of ball-leave speed is practical.
A friend of mine has short pips on it and says it works fine with those too.At first I paired it with tacky rubber, but it didn't bounce as much as I expected, so I switched to a harder tension rubber.
That worked out well. It puts on spin, and it still shoots out properly when you smash too.
The other side has a soft rubber, but there was no mushy, unpleasant feel to it. I think that's thanks to the blade's moderate hardness.It doesn't bounce much on the short game or on serves, and it's easy to put spin on, so if you're good at fine, detailed play, you can take control of the point from there.

Forehand hitting
The bounce is about a normal 5-ply plus a little extra
Topspin drive
I felt the trajectory typical of tacky rubber came through easily.
As a playing range, it's fully usable
up to mid-distance.
The backhand topspin drive might have been better with a slightly thinner or harder rubber, but it was neither great nor bad.
Overall
My backhand technique relies more on the reverse-side stroke than most people's,
and I used to be really bad at short (stop shots),
but with this blade the short game is easier.
Stops and the like settle well too.
