RAKZA X table tennis rubber from Yasaka is the latest addition to the popular and highly successful RAXZA series of Yasaka rubbers. The top sheet is a mainly natural rubber gum, employing a new production method.
The result is a top surface with exceptional grip enabling both phenomenal spin and speed. These qualities reduce the margin for error. This top sheet is then combined with a harder “Power Sponge”. The resulting combination of a faster sponge and high grip top sheet enables you to place the ball accurately with a high degree of success.
Serves and short returns are both very sharp, similar to the Rakza 7 and Rakza 9.

I tried this thinking it might suit my shakehand backhand, but my impression was that it's actually better suited to slapping on the forehand and swinging hard. The grip on hard shots is genuinely remarkable, but on weak impacts, the sheet's grip is small and I couldn't produce the ball I intended. On light taps, the rubber's grip felt weak, but depending on how you look at it, that also means it's less affected by the opponent's serve during a light-touch receive, so it felt like an easy rubber to receive with. For backhand techniques only, pushes and chiquitas had just the right amount of grip, so those were easy to do. That said, I felt you need a certain amount of power in your strokes to bring out the best in this rubber. It was also featured in the table tennis magazine Takkyu Oukoku (Table Tennis Kingdom), and the impression there too was that it's heavy and doesn't show its strengths with a light touch, making it a rubber that needs intermediate-or-higher skill — but I felt it would suit penholders who only put rubber on one side. Overall, I think this rubber suits players using plastic balls who want spin and speed.

This is a really good rubber. Tenergy rubbers cost around 7,000–8,000 yen, which is expensive, but this one is around 5,000 yen — not nearly as pricey. The performance isn't quite up to Tenergy level, but it still gets good spin and speed, so I think beginner to intermediate players will find this more than enough. I'm a shakehand drive player, and it flies with a nice, solid arc, so I really like it.
I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to step up from their current rubber but feels Tenergy is still a bit too much for them.
Also, this rubber is heavy and hard, so I'd recommend it to players who can swing through solidly.

I use max thickness on my forehand.
Weight of the rubber:
Mounted weight: 53g
Grip on the ball:
It grips the ball regardless of whether your swing is fast or slow, so it's easy to control.
Sinking in:
If you swing fast, the ball sinks in and comes out as a reasonably fast, straight shot. It doesn't bounce off surprisingly fast, so it's on the easier side to control.
Overall impression
If your swing is fast, you can sink the ball in, which widens what you can do in play. It's not a light rubber, so it seems like you'll need to be thoughtful about the rubber on the other side so the racket doesn't get too heavy.

I have this on both my forehand and backhand. My forehand drive is stable — maybe the most stable it's ever been out of everything I've used. On the backhand, chiquitas are easy to do. That said, it wasn't as stable as the forehand. Putting it on both sides makes the racket heavy, so I think players with strength can go ahead and use it on both sides.

What impressed me most is how easy it is to drive with. The sponge is hard and has strong grip, so the ball sinks in and you can really lift it.
