The Timo Boll ALC is the blade of choice for the European Triple Champion, Timo Boll. Timo working with Butterfly’s technicians, helped design his new blade which offers a touch more speed than his previous model but still allows for the production of the heavy topspin strokes Timo is known for.
Using his new blade along with Butterfly’s new Tenergy rubbers, Timo successfully defended all three of his Titles at the 2008 European Championships. Timo plays fair and wins and so can you. The Timo Boll ALC offers the maximum blend of speed, heavy spin, and Control.

ST version. Control is difficult. The drive should be getting spin, but the ball comes out flat and doesn't stay on the table easily. I don't get it. Maybe I just haven't practiced with it enough yet. The speed is top-notch. (I've used the Red Shank ST, Liu Shiwen FT, and Zhang Jike ALC ST up to now.) There's inconsistency in the bounce depending on whether you hit it cleanly or not. I guess that's to be expected. When I tried to block a drive at mid-distance and just tapped it back, it dropped like I'd received a knuckle drive. (It wasn't humidity or slipping.) The angular grip is nice. I switched because I didn't like the roundness of the Zhang Jike. I'd recommend this to people whose power drives are consistent.

Hey there!!
I'm a 1st-year high schooler who loves table tennis!!
I used to use the Freitas ALC, but even though it's an ALC, the way it grips the ball got in my way, so I went ahead and bought the Timo Boll ALC!!
My style is stepping back and hammering drives, but...
Compared to the Freitas ALC, mid-distance play is...
so much easier!!
How do I put this......
The Freitas has just a tiny bit more speed, but maybe because the feel is so good, shots go in easily even for someone as weak as me!!
Close to the table, the Timo Boll wins hands down!!
As for putting spin on the ball, if you hit the sweet spot you get some nasty shots lol lol
The trajectory is a bit flat lol
It just sticks into the court lol
The Freitas had a slow initial speed but the kind of ball that accelerates and drops later, but
the Timo Boll has a fast initial speed and keeps accelerating lol
It's like "what is this!!" lol
By the way, I'm running max thickness on both sides!!
I think I'll wrap up the review here!!

This was my first time using a special-materials blade.
I switched over from the 7-ply Clipper CR WRB.
Drives hit at a high contact point get plenty of spin and power, but if you drop your contact point, you end up with a ball that's mediocre in both spin and power...
Since I switched over from wood, pushes and stops felt a little hard to do.
People say that for a carbon blade, ALC pairs relatively well with Chinese tacky rubbers like Hurricane, but I wasn't so sure it really suited it that well. (Since I'm new to carbon blades) I felt that pairing it with Hurricane is tough unless you have the kind of physicality Chinese players have.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

I heard from a friend that it bounces a lot, but it actually didn't bounce as much as I expected. This blade gets great spin and speed, so I think something like V=15 would suit it well.

This was my first time using an ALC blade.
It's harder than a wood plywood blade, but I could hit with it without much of a disconnect.
When I want it to send the ball flying, it does.
It's not so fast that you lose control.
If you can take a solid swing, I think it's easy to put spin on the ball.
From how it felt when I hit with it, it seems like it'd pair well with Extra.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

I didn't get used to it right away, but once I did
it's got both speed and spin — a really good blade.
