TENERGY 05 has a unique feeling using a combination of Spring Sponge technology, High Tension rubber and a tacky surface. It is excellent for imparting a great deal of spin on the ball. 05 in the name was adopted from Pimples Code No. 5. Tenergy 05 enables a full range of topspin play at or away from the table. It keeps its explosive power throughout the life of the rubber without the use of speed glue or boosting. Tenergy 05 is very popular among world-class table tennis players. European Champion Timo Boll uses Tenergy 05 on forehand and backhand.

Here's what I learned from hitting with Tenergy.
First, it's very soft and has a strong "auto" feel to it. So I thought it was ideal for getting a feel for the game.
This "auto feel" can be said to be Tenergy's strength, but on the flip side, it's so strong that it's hard to figure out how to draw out its full performance. I guess that's what makes it suited for advanced players. Because of that, it's hard to specialize in either speed or spin — I personally had trouble generating speed, and while that might partly be because my blade is an inner-type, the strong "auto feel" quirk made it difficult.
And personally, if I were to put Tenergy 05 on a blade, I think an outer-type blade would be better, because you get more speed that way. As for spin, I think you're fine either way since the performance of the Tenergy rubber itself (the topsheet and sponge) is so good.

I'm a high schooler with 4 years of table tennis experience.
I won a gift certificate from Kokusai Takkyu, so I switched my forehand from Rozena to Tenergy 05.
My first impression is that it's a complete upgrade over Rozena.
Spin, speed, control — every aspect felt like it was a full step above Rozena.
On serves, if you speed up your swing, you get a lot of spin.One thing to note is that this rubber really doesn't suit everyone. I lent it to a friend who normally uses VICTAS V15, and he kept hitting long misses. The key with Tenergy is to focus on brushing the ball a lot and staying relaxed, rather than hitting it flat.
Apart from drives going long, he apparently didn't have too many other issues, but he said he couldn't really see himself using it. I was also hitting long misses a lot at first, so be careful when you buy it.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Used max thickness on the forehand.
The downside of going max thickness is that the racket gets a bit too heavy, but you get amazing spin and speed, and it's easy to use. Even after it wears out, it still produces more spin and speed than other rubbers, so it's a really great rubber.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

The legendary Tenergy really is great.
The power on drives is outstanding.
But after about the first two weeks, it starts chipping, and after around a month and a half it chips quite a bit.

Borrowed this from a junior teammate. Got to hit with it on both forehand and backhand.
On forehand I normally use MKFX, which is medium leaning toward hard, so I could really feel the difference hitting with this. Even with a slightly closed angle, it holds the ball well and gives a solid feeling of the ball rising. If you swing too upward or hit it flat, it does go long, so if you trust the rubber to hold the ball and swing forward, you get good shots.
On backhand I normally use Rasanter C45, so I had to change my swing or the ball would go long. Gripping the ball with solid spin is the same as on forehand.
I think it's affected a bit in the short game, but if you wait properly and hit it, there's no problem.
I wasn't really conscious of closing the racket angle, but trusting the rubber and swinging all the way through is the most important thing. I'll just switch to Tenergy 80 on both sides.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Intermediate level 5 (Experience: ４〜５ years) Tenergy 05 after 2 months is….

Been using it for two months. Nothing crazy has changed, honestly. Maybe lost a tiny bit of spin, but nothing to worry about. Now for the comparison with Dignics. Speed: Tenergy = Dignics. Spin: Dignics > Tenergy. Drive: Dignics > Tenergy. Push: Dignics = Tenergy. Serve: Dignics > Tenergy. That's about it. Dignics really is nuts, but Tenergy is still a great rubber too. The spin is genuinely good, and when the timing clicks, the speed can even beat Dignics. When it clicks, that is. Tenergy is softer than Dignics, so it's easier to handle — that's an advantage Dignics doesn't have. If you're putting it on, I'd recommend the backhand. Because it's soft, after all. It's easy to bounce the ball off and easy to spin, and it's light too — go with an inner-type blade, like one of Butterfly's. Sorry for the wall of text.

As expected from the strongest rubber, Tenergy... The spin and speed are both top-level. Also, since the arc is high, it settles onto the table more easily than I expected, giving it a good sense of stability (that said, I do think control still falls into the "difficult" category). The 05 is the spin-focused member of the Tenergy line, so it can produce spin on par with tacky Chinese rubbers. When you hit a drive, the ball spins with a real zip and comes out with a trajectory that carries through. The serves get a lot of spin too. You might wonder if this ultimate rubber even has any weaknesses, but I guess short lifespan and high price are just Tenergy's fate... lol. After using it for about two months, the surface started getting powdery, and I felt like the grip on the ball got worse. Even so, thanks to how high the original performance was, it still had more than enough spec left to use properly. I've honestly only been playing table tennis for about 3 years, so it's probably not really suited to me yet. But hearing it called the strongest rubber made me want to try it, so I bought it. If you're on the fence, it might be worth trying once (though the performance is so good you might not be able to go back... lol). As many other reviews say, I'd recommend it for intermediate players and above who already have a full set of solid techniques. Since it's soft, you can use it well even without a lot of power.
