TENERGY 05 has a unique feeling using a combination of Spring Sponge technology, High Tension rubber and a tacky surface. It is excellent for imparting a great deal of spin on the ball. 05 in the name was adopted from Pimples Code No. 5. Tenergy 05 enables a full range of topspin play at or away from the table. It keeps its explosive power throughout the life of the rubber without the use of speed glue or boosting. Tenergy 05 is very popular among world-class table tennis players. European Champion Timo Boll uses Tenergy 05 on forehand and backhand.

* I do think Tenergy 05 is a godly rubber — both the amount of spin and the speed were top level. That said,
Tenergy 05 has a really strong auto-spin feel, and I'm currently using Dignics, but it might actually take even longer to get used to than Dignics. It didn't really suit me that well, but
for people it does suit, I really think it's a godly rubber worth buying. As for downsides,
it's expensive, doesn't last long, and being so "auto" means it takes quite a while to get used to. But if you get things like your drives clicking well, it can produce power that reaches even Dignics-level.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Really great rubber.
The first time I hit with it, the ball flew way too much
and I basically did nothing but long misses.
Since it was my first time with Tenergy, I was really impressed.
The spin is insane.
(Put it on my forehand) (out of 10)Drive: 10
Both loop and speed drives are really easy to hit.Short game: 8
For me it flew too much and I couldn't really do it well
(should be fine once you get used to it)Block/Counter: 9
Counters come out fast and stable
but every once in a while the ball flies off
Blocking seemed fine too.Serve: 10
Serves are easy to do
and you get plenty of spin.Great rubber.

As you'd expect from the flagship of the Tenergy line, the power is fantastic. Control is difficult, but once you get used to it, it's no problem. It's worth the 7,000 yen. I think intermediate players and above should try it at least once.

Yeah, this is just the rubber. It's expensive, but the performance matches the price, and no matter what other rubber you try, you end up coming back to this one — the sense of reassurance is on another level.

You get a really strong sense of the ball being held on the rubber.
The trajectory naturally forms an arc, so once you get used to it, the ball lands on the table quite consistently.
For intermediate players and above, it'll produce outstanding destructive power.

I used the 2.1mm version. After cutting to size it averages around 45-47g, so it's lightweight.
Even though it's about 18 years old now, it's a legendary rubber that still reigns as one of the top high-end options.
Of course, plenty of rubbers with higher performance than Tenergy have come out since, but in terms of the balance between performance and weight, nothing has surpassed it yet.The sponge hardness is a slightly soft 46°, but the topsheet itself is quite hard.
Its biggest feature is how easily it generates spin — enough that it basically invented the term "auto-spin feel."
Compared to modern rubbers, the trajectory is admittedly straighter and the arc lower, but it's impressive how forgiving it is — the ball still carries decently whether you hit it thin or full.The unfortunate part is the short lifespan, but I think it's best to just accept that as the price you pay for the light weight.

I had the black, thick version on the forehand side of an Innerforce Layer ALC. Backhand was short pips at the time. In the end, I couldn't really make it work. Even at thick, it flies quite a bit, and both the spin and speed are more than good enough. Someday I want to work hard enough that I can properly use the max-thickness version of this rubber.
