TENERGY 05 has a unique feeling using a combination of Spring Sponge technology, High Tension rubber and a tacky surface. It is excellent for imparting a great deal of spin on the ball. 05 in the name was adopted from Pimples Code No. 5. Tenergy 05 enables a full range of topspin play at or away from the table. It keeps its explosive power throughout the life of the rubber without the use of speed glue or boosting. Tenergy 05 is very popular among world-class table tennis players. European Champion Timo Boll uses Tenergy 05 on forehand and backhand.

It's a good rubber — the spin catches in a natural-feeling way,
which is great, and it's also on the faster side.
That said, the ball-holding feel was a bit... let's just say it left something to be desired.All Speed Spin Control

This is a review of Tenergy 05.
From a chopper's perspective.
First, I applied it to the Joo Se-hyuk blade I always use.
As for forehand strokes,
first of all, it's a rubber that's very easy to put spin on.
Whether it's drives or chops, the spin catches.
I find brushing the ball makes it easier to put spin on, personally.
If you drive through the ball hard, the speed is fast, but
it's harder to control.
If you want to drive through hard, I think 64 is better for that.
Serves also take spin well.
Once you get used to it, you can even produce short serves with this rubber.As for using it on the backhand,
I think it's better to avoid that.
64 is softer than 05, and above all, easier to use.
Since 05 is hard, if you don't swing through firmly, the ball comes out flat with no spin.Overall, it's a rubber that's easy to put spin on.
The speed is also quite fast.
But if you're not a fan of hard rubbers,
I think 64 is better.
Also, it generally fits well with any Butterfly blade.
I think this applies to the whole Tenergy line.It's a simple review, but thanks for reading.

I've been a chopper for 2 years (started table tennis in junior high), and
Tenergy 05 gives really sharp, biting chops.
With the combination of the Joo Se-hyuk blade and Tenergy, as a chopper,
it bounces quite a lot and the setup ends up fairly heavy,
but if you can hold your opponent's drives firmly, it stays stable.
You can also do chopper-specific shots like heavily-cut chops and no-spin knuckle chops.
However, since this rubber is made for attacking players and is sold on its spin,
it naturally bounces a lot and is also sensitive to incoming spin,
but if you've been using tension rubbers up to now, you'll get used to it quickly.
On the other hand, if you've been using tacky rubber, I think it'll bounce too much to be usable.The way to cut chops is by brushing the ball.
If you brush your drives the same way, you'll put on so much spin
that opponents won't be able to stop it with a block.
That said, I found angle shots and smashes difficult until you get used to them.As for serves, if you brush the ball firmly, you get good spin.
Of course, you can get service aces with it too.So, this is a rubber I'd recommend both to attacking choppers and to choppers who want to score off the opponent's mistakes.

It's easy to put spin on, and the trajectory arcs nicely, so you can play consistently. Serves also take spin easily, so I think a wide range of players, from intermediate to advanced, can use it.

Really high performance!
I don't focus much on speed, so I like how easy 05 is to put spin on!

Tenergy has become super famous by now — you get both spin and speed, but it has the drawback of being hard to smash with. If you're competing purely on spin, no rubber tops this one, but overall, it feels like it's just a bit short of perfect!
