TENERGY 05 has a unique feeling using a combination of Spring Sponge technology, High Tension rubber and a tacky surface. It is excellent for imparting a great deal of spin on the ball. 05 in the name was adopted from Pimples Code No. 5. Tenergy 05 enables a full range of topspin play at or away from the table. It keeps its explosive power throughout the life of the rubber without the use of speed glue or boosting. Tenergy 05 is very popular among world-class table tennis players. European Champion Timo Boll uses Tenergy 05 on forehand and backhand.

This has been the strongest rubber out there for over 10 years! (The price is in the strongest class too, lol.) Just touching the ball is enough for it to grip and pop up on its own! Even hitting backspin at full power produces spin the opponent basically can't handle! You can swing with confidence no matter how tense the moment in a match! The first time I used it, it felt like the ball got grabbed so much it wouldn't let go at all! I felt like you really have to commit to the spin and drive through the ball, or you won't get the full benefit of this rubber. It was almost completely unsuited to flat hitting. It felt like such a waste given how well it grips the ball otherwise. Personally, though, I felt like if it were just a tiny bit harder, I'd have no complaints even when playing from further back. But it's exactly because of this softness that you can really sink the ball into it on backspin attacks! Still, the rubber wearing out fast and the price are the two sticking points. So I think I'll save Tenergy for just before important tournaments!! I thought this was truly the strongest rubber, one nothing else can beat!

Plenty of new high-tension rubbers have shown up since Tenergy first came out, but almost none of them have matched its overall performance—it's a truly complete rubber. (That said, it just didn't suit me personally.)
It generates so much spin that you can actually feel the spin happening on its own. That said, players with a bit of power who can make solid contact will definitely be able to get the most out of this rubber's performance.
It has weaknesses like a short lifespan, a high price, and being affected by the opponent's spin, but anyone with solid fundamentals can use it, so why not give it a try at least once?All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

Switched from Tenergy 05 FX to Tenergy 05
Thoughts
I'd been using tacky rubber for years, but it started lacking power, so I switched to Tenergy 05
On the forehand it bounces, but honestly it bounces too much
Counter
I tried countering an incoming loop drive and it bounced so much it was unusable
Topspin drive
Since it bounces, it's easy to hit
Push
This is pretty hard to do
Backhand
Backhand techniques felt easy to pull offOverall, I think the FX is better!

There's no technique this rubber can't do. The price is high, but the performance matches it. Its number one trait is that it can draw a consistent, stable arc against any kind of ball. As long as you make solid contact, the ball lands in no matter the situation. If you're a drive player, once you use this you won't be able to quit it—this is a rubber that truly sits at the top right now.

The spin is insane. Even a light hit draws a nice arc, so you might send the ball out at first.

I used this on an inner-carbon blade, and compared to the Tenergy 64 and 80 I'd used before, the bounce was weaker, which gave me the impression this is a rubber for powerful, advanced players. That said, compared to ordinary rubbers, both the speed and spin are outstanding. Since the bounce is a bit weaker, I think it'd actually be a good match for an outer-carbon blade. The spin performance is beyond reproach—the spin just kicks in on its own and the ball flies off. I'd recommend this to players with a lot of power.

I use this for chopping, and on the attacking side there's nothing to complain about. I really love that "gripping" feeling when you attack after your opponent pushes back your chop. It's a feeling no other rubber gives you.
As for chopping, once you get used to it you can make it work in any situation, and even if the ball pops up a bit more than intended, it still has more backspin than you'd expect, so it's not bad. If you're at a certain level or above, I think even with some minor drawbacks, the payoff is worth it. I bought all sorts of rubbers trying to move on from Tenergy, but in the end, buying this one sheet works out cheaper than buying a bunch of different ones, so now I stick with just this.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard
