TENERGY 05 has a unique feeling using a combination of Spring Sponge technology, High Tension rubber and a tacky surface. It is excellent for imparting a great deal of spin on the ball. 05 in the name was adopted from Pimples Code No. 5. Tenergy 05 enables a full range of topspin play at or away from the table. It keeps its explosive power throughout the life of the rubber without the use of speed glue or boosting. Tenergy 05 is very popular among world-class table tennis players. European Champion Timo Boll uses Tenergy 05 on forehand and backhand.

The spin potential is definitely high. Even when you're tense during a tournament, you can still get plenty of spin on the ball. That said, I wouldn't say it's a rubber beginners can use well.
A speed drive against backspin draws a proper arc. A loop drive against backspin lifts the ball very easily.
Both speed-oriented and spin-oriented chiquitas land on the table reliably. Pushes bite quite a bit. Stops feel hard to keep short because the ball bounces too much.

Spin kicks in automatically, so you can get away with a weaker impact, but if you don't follow through fully, the ball comes out flat with no spin. If you can put together a solid swing, your topspin drives come out great and get plenty of spin.

I started out with Tenergy 05 Pro on, so after switching to the regular 05 I kept sending the ball out at first. But sure enough, it generates plenty of spin, and the short game was easy to play too. It's clear why the top players use it. Personally, loop drives were easy to pull off. Even when the contact point gets low, it still lifts the ball up properly. I don't think I can go back to anything other than Tenergy now.

My impression is that this is a rubber that adds extra speed and spin on top of whatever swing speed and power you bring, and it's a rubber I've actually used for quite a long time.
Since I'm a chopper, I've used it on blades like the Koji Matsushita DF, Bione Cello, and Wakyoku-Ao, and I felt that the amount of spin and speed on my shots depended a lot on which blade it was mounted on. On the other hand, for serves and pushes, it generates solid spin and good control no matter which blade you use, and I don't feel it's particularly picky about blade compatibility, so it's easy to use.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

In rally exchanges, the spin just naturally kicks in and the ball goes in, and the way it carries through on the opponent's side of the table was insane.
Loop drives also get intense spin no matter what position you hit from. Stops were hard to keep short, though. Pushes bite well too, so it's great going from a super sharp push to a wispy, low push, then finishing with an early-timed loop drive. For serves, long serves were godlike. You can handle it without much power to a moderate extent. But more power is better. That said, if you have the power, you might be better off with the Hard version. So I really want players with a style built around a stable third-ball from a long serve, finishing with a speed drive on the fifth ball, to try this. Some people say it doesn't last long, but I think you'll be fine if you use silica gel and put on a practice tacky film. Personally, I think beginners should start with the 64, move to 05FX, and once they build up power, switch to the 05 or 05 Hard.

In one-course practice drills, the spin kicks in on its own so much that even a slight change in racket angle can mix in sidespin, which can sometimes make it hard for your practice partner to return the ball. But that same trait means you can make it hard for opponents in matches too.
Because it's a softer rubber with spring sponge, you get that sense of the ball sinking into the sponge, but at the moment of impact there's a strong "grip" and I felt the initial speed wasn't quite as high. Compared to harder rubbers, it feels a bit weaker for chiquitas and flicks. For backspin attacks and topspin drives, you can produce both clean shots and tricky, unpredictable ones. It's a rubber where the variety of shots you get really depends on the player.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

A friend let me hit with theirs.
I demoed it on the forehand.
I think the serves get really good bite.
As for attacking techniques like topspin drives and smashes, though,
I think it comes down to the individual.
Still, I think it's an incredibly versatile rubber.
It's clear why the top players in the world use it.
You might not get used to it at first,
but once you do, I think the performance is good enough
