TENERGY 05 has a unique feeling using a combination of Spring Sponge technology, High Tension rubber and a tacky surface. It is excellent for imparting a great deal of spin on the ball. 05 in the name was adopted from Pimples Code No. 5. Tenergy 05 enables a full range of topspin play at or away from the table. It keeps its explosive power throughout the life of the rubber without the use of speed glue or boosting. Tenergy 05 is very popular among world-class table tennis players. European Champion Timo Boll uses Tenergy 05 on forehand and backhand.

Right now I have Tenergy 05 on my Innerforce Layer ALC, but I want a bit more speed, so I'm thinking of switching to the 80. Can someone tell me whether the 80 would suit the Innerforce Layer ALC?

The first time I hit with it, I was amazed at this rubber's potential. The hardness isn't that different from what I'd used before, but Tenergy 05 has a much better sense of gripping the ball tightly. I've also had a lot of moments where a ball that wouldn't have gone in before does go in — it's Tenergy 05, after all. That's how much consistency it has too.
Stops and pushes bite really well, and serves too.
Once you try it, you'll understand why so many top players use Tenergy 05.
It's genuinely high-performance — easy to place where you're aiming, with a high ceiling on both spin and speed.

Other reviewers have already covered the spin performance, speed, and other high-end qualities, so let me offer a different angle.
The lifespan is shorter than other spin-oriented tension rubbers. Even at best, the good performance lasts about two months.
Next, because the topsheet grips the ball so well, you get great spin, but on the flip side you're also more affected by your opponent's spin.Also, it's heavy. Put max thickness on both sides and it really adds some weight.
Performance-wise it's a top-tier rubber, so give it a try at least once. I'm sure you won't be able to give it up.

This is a comparison with the 64.
As for speed, the 64 is generally faster, but if you sink the ball in and snap it hard, the 05 might actually come out faster.
As for spin, for some people they're about the same. The 64 is soft and lets you put spin on your drives in a stable way. The 05 is a bit harder, so its ceiling is higher, and you can get solid spin whether you sink the ball in or just brush it.
Control-wise, well, that's really down to preference lol
It varies a lot depending on whether you prefer soft or hard.

What was different from other rubbers was that strong grabbing feeling when you drive — it really grips the ball hard. With Tenergy the sponge tends to go before the topsheet does, so when it gets gouged out it's seriously depressing.

They say seeing once is worth hearing a hundred times, but I'd say hitting once is worth seeing a hundred times.
I had Hurricane on the other side, so by comparison this actually felt soft to me. As for the feel on contact, it's fascinating how you can feel the sponge launching the ball like a spring right through your hand — it's a sensation I haven't gotten from any other rubber.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Spin, control, speed — high performance across the board.
Especially the spin, since just making contact puts a huge amount of spin on the ball,
it's a rubber even beginners can win with easily.
