TENERGY 05 has a unique feeling using a combination of Spring Sponge technology, High Tension rubber and a tacky surface. It is excellent for imparting a great deal of spin on the ball. 05 in the name was adopted from Pimples Code No. 5. Tenergy 05 enables a full range of topspin play at or away from the table. It keeps its explosive power throughout the life of the rubber without the use of speed glue or boosting. Tenergy 05 is very popular among world-class table tennis players. European Champion Timo Boll uses Tenergy 05 on forehand and backhand.

This is one of the rubbers that represents the table tennis world, isn't it. Even after a price hike pushed it past 8000 yen, it keeps selling, which just shows how high-performing this rubber is. Especially when it comes to generating spin, it's the best among tension rubbers, so if you haven't tried it yet, I really want you to give it a try!

This has become one of the standards that all other rubbers get measured against these days.
The powerful topspin that builds up even from a light forehand hit, and the way a drive draws an arc over your own side of the table and then extends with speed on your opponent's side - I think that's something unique to this rubber.
You can use it even with a weak impact, but I think this rubber shows its true value most with players who can put a proper full swing on the ball.
It does have its downsides, of course - a short lifespan, being easily affected by the opponent's spin, and the high price - but it's a rubber I'd want everyone to try at least once.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

This was my first time using Tenergy, and at first I couldn't keep up with the bounce, but I gradually learned to rein in that spin and speed, and I really felt that this is a rubber that can compete on the world stage.

I think almost everyone who plays table tennis already knows this, but it really is high performance.
As the description says, the spin performance leaves nothing to be desired.
It's been years since it was released, but it still boasts top-class spin among spin-oriented tension rubbers. There's no other rubber that puts on this much spin even with a light hit.
When you put a drive on it, the ball drives forward and the speed is amazing too.
The performance is beyond complaint.
This rubber really is the strongest out there...
However, I can't really recommend it to people in their first 1 to 3 years of playing table tennis.
The reason is that the ball travels so far it risks going past the table. On top of that, stops and pushes can go past the table too, which can let your opponent attack first.
Also, the price is pretty high... (this is the biggest issue)

The blade I used is the Baum Espirit, an aramid carbon outer blade.
The 05 is said to be a spin-oriented rubber, but it's also quite easy to generate speed with.
It's especially helpful because smashes tend to finish the point in one shot.
With this blade combination, drives have a low trajectory and don't get countered. Also, the short game is said to be difficult with this rubber, but stops and pushes bite really well - stops in particular are easy to drop low and short right in front of the net.
Drives and the short game are easy to pull off, but the problem is blocking and countering.
It's easily affected by the opponent's spin and tends to pop up. Counter-smashes also get affected by spin and felt hard to pull off, though that may come down to skill.
Tenergy is a bit too high-performance in a way - the control is good, but it's difficult to handle.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard
